The word slipper also finds its place in the Ottoman Language. In the dictionary written in 1680, the researcher Thesaurus Meninski shows the equivalent of the word "slippers" as "leather socks and soft shoes".

The adventure of the word "slipper" in our language goes back to very, very old times. While migration from Central Asia to Anatolia has not started yet, "Slippers", Divan-ı Lugati't Türk, which is considered one of the most important works of Turkish Language and one of our first dictionary studies, also finds its place.

Slippers are frequently used in the Ottoman period due to the bath culture. In Ottoman times, the word "shoe" is used to describe the slippers.

In Istanbul, the capital of the Ottoman Empire, slippers and shoe manufacturing establishments established in Gedikpaşa, located in Fatih, Istanbul in order to meet the slippers and shoe needs of the growing population at that time, constantly work and try to meet the slippers and shoes needs of the empire.
